THE BRONX TALE IS A NEW MUSICAL about the OLD NEIGHBORHOOD
Based on the one-man show that inspired the now classic film, this streetwise musical will take you to the stoops of the Bronx in the 1960s—where a young man is caught between the father he loves and the mob boss he’d love to be. Featuring an original doo-wop score, this is a tale about respect, loyalty, love and above all else: family.
- The Plot: In this original Broadway musical, a teenaged boy must choose between two father figures—his actual dad and the mob boss who controls his 1960s Bronx neighborhood.
- The Inspiration: the autobiographical one-man play penned and performed by actor Chazz Palminteri, which Robert De Niro adapted into a film in 1993
- The Creative Team: Directed by Robert De Niro and four-time Tony Award winner Jerry Zaks, the show also features a book by Chazz Palmisteri, songs by the team of eight-time Academy Award winner Alan Menken and three-time Tony Award nominee Glenn Slater, and choreography by Tony nominee Sergio Trujillo.
